VM invalid

I have a Windows 2008 R2 VM running on an ESXi 5.0 platform.  In the Inventory tree it shows up grayed out with an "Invalid" status.  There are no options to restart this VM from within the client - that I can find.  But the VM itself is working.  I can even use RDP to log into the MS Server.  I just cannot mange it from with vClient.  Any suggestions?

Hi there,

There are several reasons why a VM might be shown as invalid, you could try removing it from the inventory (right-click, remove from inventory) then re-adding it (browse the datastore where the VM files live, right-click the .vmx file and choose add to inventory).

Otherwise have a look through this KB to see which resolution would be relevant to yourself...

Hope this helps
