VM datastore not listed in an APD state

Here's a strange one I can't find an answer for:

We're doing some testing with a SAN and running vim-cmd vmsvc/getallvms lists everything as it should. However, failing the connection to the SAN and putting the host into an APD state, one of the VMs shows the datastore as "[ ]" but the others are all ok.  We had this yesterday with another VM and found it had a, iso mounted.  Remove the iso, all was ok.  This one has no iso or cd mounted and as far as we can tell should list the datastore.  This is important because we run a script on it that relies on the datastore name, and this one VM isn't responding.

Can't find any references to it anywhere else, thought I'd ask the experts.

Meant to add that in the next field it lists the full path to the .vmx file using the full datastore ref. ID

We're on ESXi 5.1 Update 1, btw.

I'm not sure whether I fully understand the current situation. Anyway, does the VM have an active snapshot?

Have you got a CD or ISO mounted on that VM?  I had 3 doing that, 2 had an ISO mounted, one was vCenter!  Still haven't resolved that one!
