Hello,
ESXi 6 host with 2* 6 core Xeon 2,53GHz
VM with 6 vCPU (Windows Server 2008 R2)
VM OS monitored via PRTG.
When PRTG show VM OS CPU load ~80%, vSphere Client Performance Chart show CPU usage ~8255 MHz.
Very strange.
6*2.53GHz = 15180 MHz
80% * 15180 = 12144 MHz
Why vSphere Client Performance Chart show only 8255 MHz?
What does it shows inside guest OS ? To get brief details, use ESXTOP and then compare results.
inside OS PRTG show 80% CPU usage
Paste the two snippet.
1. Task Manger > Performance > CPU
2. Snippet of CPU usage at vSphere level.
Hello, Guest OS CPU usage will always be different that VM CPU usage on the perticular ESXi host.. To understand it better, I would recommend you to read the article given below:
Thanks
I know this very well. What I m trying is, to reproduce the CPU usage at all 3 level mentioned to analyze the symptoms.
