VM 6.7.0 DataStore 99% Full - unable to power up VM / Consolidate disks (no snap shot on vm)

Hi ,  who ever setup our host at a client site allocated  all the Data store to the one and only VM on the Host .  The  VM says that it needs to consolidate disks and but there is no datastore space to consolidate the disks .  There are no snapshots showing on the VM through Vsphere. We have restarted the host and have also tried powering up the VM which will not  : 'Failed -Module 'MonitorLoop' power on failed'.

I am able to Win SCP to the Host server and probably Putty to it  ..  Is there something I can delete on the Host to free some space ? . I can see on the store that these files exist for the server see attached photo

Please connect to the host using e.g. putty and post the results of df -h, and ls -lisa from within the VM's folder.

you can remove all the .log files, and the .vswp file, that might be just enough.

Please consolidate snapshot while the vm is poweredoff
