If you are asking about VMware Consolidated Backup, then yea, it is a free tool provided by VMware.

You also have VDR as a backup tool for your VMs.

VCB is not anymore available... Backup solution is VDR and its available with Standard License

Hi,

Unfortunately VDR is not for Big environment. It has the limitation of 100 VMs to take the backup.

You need to think about vStorage API for Data Protection incase you don't want to disturb the Guest OS.

Still many companies using the old Backup Technology (installing the Backup agent on the Guest Os) to take the backup of the VMs..
