V5 VSA

We have just installed and configured a new Virtual Storage Appliance and VCentre and have a couple of issues.

The servers we installed ESXi V5 to have 2 x Raid Controllers with multiple disks for each.

However on installing the VSA we could only select to continue the install using the raid where ESXi had been installed,  In effect we immediately lost the second raid controller and lun. Can you only have a single raid controller per ESXi host? is this correct or have I missed something??

If this is the case we have recently puchased some DELL R710 they have an SSD card for the OS and a seperate disk array, does this mean I can only use the SSD and not the extra storage, or lose the dds and install esxi on the disk array??

We also had planes to use a server that has an external scsi disk array (12tb) does this mean I cannot use that either unless I install esxi on that??
