has anybody experience with V2P of a windows 2008 x64 vm and could me send the notes? (target is a HP server DL380)
Any help would be appreciated!
you can use FalconStor CDP along with DiskSafe, you will be able to restore the protected drive to Virtual Machine or to Physical Machine.
Or you can use normal backup and restore incloding system state of the server, that will restore everything for you as of Cloned Server.

You will need restore from backup as the other poster suggests or a third party tool like PlateSpin's Portability suite -

it might be easier to just port over the app, depending on what it is.
If it's a SQL server, you can backup the database, create a new 2008 R2 x64 server, install SQL, then move the database.
does nobody has his own guide like the old vmware v2p guide?
does anyone has real world expirience with "PlateSpin's Portability suite"
dear kac2, poorly thats not possible.
It's SAP, could not transfer it with a Dump file or something like that....
ahhh. yea, SAP wouldnt be an easy transport.
is there a reason why you don't want it to stay virtual? just curious? performance issues can always be addressed.
Symantec BESR has good reviews. worth a shot to look at or test.
the SAP consultants says "physical"....we have no performance issues.....and now we have to do the dirty work....
although a little old, this may give some insight, but as others have stated you need 3rd party utilities for V2P
tell them they are crazy. VMware is a supported platform for SAP. It's on their own site for crying out loud.
