V CPU

Hi,

How to increase the V CPU's for already provisioned VM.

While creating VM, if the option is greyed out or it shows options only for 4 CPU's, but we need 8 CPU's. What might be root causes and how do we troubleshoot this issue.

Does it depend on the license we have?, not sure I am correct.

Note: The above is for ESX 4.0/4.1

for vSphere 4.x if you don't have Enterprise Plus licensing, your max is 4 vCPU's per guest
