Use Fibre Channel for network instead of storage

Hello,

Im running a Dell R610 with ESXi 6

I have a 4 port 1gb Nic card I'm using for the VMs and management network.

I also have 2x fibre cards installed in the server....

They show up under storage adaptors but I'm not running a SAN nor have any plans too. Is there any way I can use these fibre ports for additional NIC adaptors instead?? I can't seem to find any info online.

You can pull the fiber cards out and put additional Nic cards in the slots.

I did think of that but that wasn't the question asked.

Can I not use Fibre for networking on ESXi? I can't see why not...

You can't...

You can use the fibre channel protocol with your FC cards... IP protocols are not supported...
