You can WinSCP or Datastore Browser.

Or the client CD or client ISO (change the properties for the CD).

with VIClient connect to newly setup ESX host, browse it's local storage (or if doing via vCenter, browse accessible datastores) and then choose Upload File, and then upload ISO to datastore. Then in VM mount Datastore ISO (choose proper location), and that's it.

The Datastore Browser upload is extremely slow. Will try the SCP option.

Thanks

What is your connection from your PC to Virtual Center/ESX host? Do you go via Internet? If yes, then the speed is the same as upload from your pc. If you have both client&esx/vc in same LAN, then speed (both scp/browsing datastore) should be 100Mbit/1000
