Upgrading Essentials Plus licence to Standard on 5.1- Standalone ESXi host

Hi

I have a Cisco UCS host with vSphere 5.1 installed with Essentials Plus licence. When logged onto the host via VI client as the root account, there is no option under administration to change the licence key!!

Am I missing something.

Cheers

On stand alone hosts, select the host, and click the Configure tab. There you'll find licensing in the Software pane (click "Edit.." in the upper right).

It has to be done from Inventory --> Hosts --> Configuration tab --> Software --> Licensed Features --> Edit --> Assign a new license key to the host

VMware vSphere 5.1

Cheers,

If this host is joined to a vCenter with an Essentials Plus license, you won't be able to upgrade the license to Standard. If this is standalone, I'm not even positive you can do this anyway. This KB (VMware Knowledge Base ) which is for 6.x seems to suggest not. 5.1 was so long ago I can't remember if things were any different.
