I am trying to find the esxi web client but it doesnt seem to be part of the upgrade? where can I find it? I only have one esxi host do I need to run a server to host another web server? this is very confusing, the windows client seemed so much more straight forward
with vsphere 5.5 or even before they introduced the webclient. the webclient is only available with the vcenter.
as I see you don't have any vcenter just standalone esxi server? is this right?
if you only have standalone esxi server you can continue to use the native installable client.
you can dowload it by typing the hostname or IP of your esxi server in a broweser. there you have a link to download the native client
or you can download it here: http://vsphereclient.vmware.com/vsphereclient/2/5/0/2/2/2/2/VMware-viclient-all-6.0.0-2502222.exe
with esxi 6.0 you have the possibility to install a web client on each esxi server:
you can take some infos here: http://www.vladan.fr/esxi-free-web-client-interface/
Hi ddalton,
As Bruno suggested, Web Client is part of the vCenter.
In fact you cannot connect to vCenter with the Windows client anymore if you are using version 6.
So in your case, you will have to connect using Windows client or using the method Bruno suggested to install Web Client for each ESXi host.
Hope this helps.

Adil Arif
To manage a single ESXi host, you might want to check out the ESXi Embedded Host Client: https://labs.vmware.com/flings/esxi-embedded-host-client.
