Upgrade to U1 using Host Upgrade Utility

I'm running ESXi 4.0 with quite a few VMs running on it (~35) and am wondering if there are any gotchas when using the Host Upgrade Utility to upgrade to U1. I would like to upgrade my workstation to Win7 and have read that the vSphere Client for U1 will run on that O/S. I understand that I will have to shut down all VMs but would like to know if it is really as easy as clicking "Upgrade" in the upgrade utility.

Thanx,

Garth

Yes, it`s easy, but first upgrade your ESX than upgrade Windows, because Host Upgrade Utility will not update old build of ESX.

A follow-up question. When I scan for updates, the Host Update Utility states that 7 patches were detected and then displays two buttons: Patch Host and Upgrade Host. I am attempting to move from 4.0 to 4.0 U1 but I'm not sure which is the proper button to select and I'm not about to guess. To go from 4.0 to 4.0 U1, should I select Patch Host or Upgrade Host? The Help discusses both but is not really clear about whether U1 is a patch or an upgrade.

Thanx,

Garth
