Has anyone found a solution for this problem?
I have patched, updated all VMWare patches, rollups, etc...
Updated the MEM file to the Equalogics SANs to 1.2.x
Updated to the be2iscsi driver.
Still take 45 min. to boot, once booted, everything looks fine???
Do not have any RAM disks attached, or use MS clustering.
Thanks, tandrist
Fixed, remnants from a previous SAN. Funny things is this problem never reared it's head till the upgrade to 5.5u1. Iscsi discovery must be different in 5.5 than 5.1?
What exactly takes 45 minutes to boot? vCenter or ESXi?
When we upgraded our vCenter to 5.5u1b and rebooted our vCenter server services took about 45 minutes to start running.
Subsequent reboots did not take that long, we attributed it to the upgrade and perhaps vCenter was doing things behind the scenes after the 1st reboot post upgrade.
I have the exact same problem with ESXi 5.5 on some hosts. It seems to hang at usb arbitrator
