Upgrade process for VM's on Vsphere

Hi All,

I was trying to implement VMware data recovery in our environment and it came up with an error saying "unable to snapshot the VM' i tried to take a snapshot of the VM manually which also failed.

I have went through few of the discussion in the community and found that i would need to upgrade my VMware and check this, we are currently running ESXi 4 Build 171294 and the VMware tools version also shows up the same, wanted to know how and where do i download the latest version of VMware tools for my VM's.

Regards,

Vijay

You can find new VMware Tools in new ISO of ESX / ESXi.

Which kind of VM do you have? Linux or Windows?

Open the ISO file with 7-zip (or similar programs).

Extract the \VMware\RPMS\vmware-esx-tools-4.*.i386 file

Open this file with 7-zip (or similar programs).

Extract the \vmimages\tools-isoimages\windows.iso file

Mount this ISO on your VM.
