Assuming we have Essentials Plus and are already utilizing (3) (2x CPU) servers, what are the possible upgrade paths to add additional ESXi servers to the mix so that they can be managed by vcenter?
As you know vCenter for Essentials only supports 3 Hosts so no you can't add a 4th host to the vCenter for Essentials. The bad thing is that the 3 host licences you get with it can't work with a regular vCenter Standard edition later either - so you'd really limited if you go this way. I will recommend going for one of the Standard or Advanced Acceleration Kits , they're more expensive today but don't limit you in the future. They have also limit the acceleration kit to Standard, Enterprise and Advance so you have to choose one of them according to your future plans.
