Update Manager upgrade 5.5 to 5.5U2B installation struck

Hi All,

Am upgrading one of my vCenter from vCenter 5.5 to vCenter 5.5 U2B, all the installations like inventory services, vCenter service, installation went successfull , except the Update Manager.

I have given the DB credentials when it asked , the screen got struck for hours , i have tried rebooting the vCenter server and restarted the installation , still update manager installation stuck at same place.

Does any one came across such incident, what you guys did to resolve it.

Guys logged a call with VMware support,

its simple just by killing the process resolved the issue. :smileylaugh:

just go to task manager and kill the process called

vmware-vum-ufa-server.exe *32

vmware-updatemgr.exe *32

vmware-vum-ufa-server.exe *32  ( VMware VSphere Update Manager Service )

vmware-updatemgr.exe *32  ( This Service is started when SA initiate installing VUM )

will stop running update manager upgrade installation. By killing that process it can resolve the issue.

Its not mandatory with all the update manager upgrade.
