Unusually fast disk performance ESXI 7.0.1

Setting up a ESXI 7.0.1 server for a customer and I just noticed a unusually fast read/write performance for some western digital purple drives in RAID 5. Also test the SSD's and there reading in GB/s something just seems off. 😯. Any ideas on whats going on?

You used ATTO Disk Benchmark ?

We recently used that tool too and also got obscure results.
Then we repeated the tests with a different version of that tool and other products and received reasonable results.

We came to the conclusion that the version we used for the first tests was the real problem.

Suggestion: repeat benchmarks using other tools

In addition to what @continuum said, remember that the RAID controller - unless I'm mistaken - has 8GB cache, which may also affect the results
