Hello VMCommunity!
I have a cluster, then several hosts within, and a resource pool within each host.
I have one server in a windows environment with an unstable connection (server 2012).
I am running VMWare vCenter Server 5.0 and vSphere Client 5.0
I have a host with no VM's running in there, so I created a new server on there.
I copied the settings from existing servers which are working fine.
However it's causing me an issue because it's quite frequent that the connection drops and it is random as to what connections drop and for how long. So it can be fine for 10 minutes and it drops 1 packet, then the connection drops and it times out for two minutes..
I am running pings from two machines which should hopefully give a bit more information
I double checked because it started to sound like an IP address conflict, but that wasn't the issue..
Scenario A:
Machine 1 (machine with the issue)
ping to the VM host is timing out
ping to external DNS server is timing out
ping to local gateway is timing out
ping to loop back address works fine (127.0.0.1)
Machine 2
ping to Machine 1 is timing out
ping to external DNS is fine
ping to local gateway is fine
ping to host where Machine 1 resides works fine
Scenario B:
Machine 1 (machine with the issue)
ping to VMhost is timing out
ping to external DNS server is working fine
ping to local gateway is working fine
ping to loop back address works fine
Machine 2
ping to Machine 1 works fine
ping to external DNS is fine
ping to local gateway is fine
ping to host where machine 1 resides works fine
Any ideas would be appreciated !
