    A host in a 2 node cluster is disconnected. I can ping it and vms are running ok.

    I can't log in through putty or using the ILO remote console.

    I can't think of any options other than to power cycle it at this point and let HA do it's thing.

    Unfortunately most of the vms in this small cluster are running on this host.

    Any other ideas? Let it go and see if it becomes responsive?

    I've seen that behavior when the boot disk is lost for some reason.  Are you booting from SAN?  Do you see any error messages on the console?

    You may be right on with it being a disk issue, The disks are local

    I'm seeing VSCSI errors, retries and resets for vscsi 0:0.

    The correct answer to this is don't log in to Vcenter on the weekend when you're not on call!

    The host came back up without errors. It may be a case of a lurking hardware issue.

    Luckily these hosts are being replaced in the very near future.
