We just configured a host with ESXi 4.1 only to find out that it's not compatible with the APC powerchute 2.2.4 software. I tried to install it on a Vsphere Management Assistant but it wouldn't recognize the ./install.sh file. I talked to APC and they say to roll back to an older version of ESXi or to ESX.
Any thoughts on ESXi 4.0 vs ESX 4.0?
I need to uninstall the ESXi, so from what I see I need to put it back into Evaluation mode and then reinstall the hypervisor....I'm a relative newbie to this part of the process -- what happens to the datastores? my vms? I know I'll need to reconfigure the environment (virtual switches, etc.) but what else do I need to be concerned about?
Thanks!
Brian
