Unable to use VMware 5.5 VMs in VMware 6.7 due to incompatible snapshot disk usage

i am trying to figure out how to consolidate the disks of 4 VMware 5.5 VMs. They each have 3 snapshots each. We had the hardware that supported our vmware 5.5 install fail, all i have are 4 VMs with a bunch of snapshots and a VMware 6.7 server that wont load those VMs due to the snapshot disk being unsupported in VMware 6.7. Plz help. What can i do?

Did you restore the VM's files to a datastore? What's the VMFS version on that datstore?
In case of a VMFS5 datastore the "old" VMFSsparse (delta file) format is still supported.

The motherboard of the ESXi 5.5(VMFS5) machine is fried.

I had to manually scp the files from a backup of the old datastore but the snapshots are preventing me from starting them on the VMware 6.7(VMFS6).

That's what I though. With "VMFS6", only sesparse snapshots are supported, so what's required is a "VMFS5" datastore to be able to consolidate/delete the snapshots. Do you have an option to create a temporary VMFS5 datastore?
