Hi all,
First off, this is a Fujitsu TX300 S5 server running a Fujitsu branded copy of ESXi 4.0.0 Build-721907. Yesterday I ran the Host Update utility against the server with all VMs off and the host in Maint mode and it found 2 patches:
'Updates Firmware' released on 14/09/2012 08:00:00 (kb2019668)
'Updates VMware Tools' released on 14/09/2012 08:00:00 (kb2019669)
When I run the update process it gets to 47% and backs out saying unable to apply patch, check the update log for more details.
I've ssh'd in to the vma and checked /var/log/vmware/esxupdate.log (the only file in there) and it's empty.
I'm almost certainly missing a config option somewhere to perform the logging I guess, but having googled around for a couple of hours yesterday I'm at a bit of a loss, I find many issues with the updates but people always seem to have log data, has anyone got any idea of what i'm missing?
