Jelan

1.check the list of VMs connected to the particular datastore

2.check the VMs cd is connected with any ISO in the datastore

3.IF yes change it to client device only.

4. Try to unmount the Datastore

Saravan,

1.check the list of VMs connected to the particular datastore-----------          no vms

2.check the VMs cd is connected with any ISO in the datastore-------    Not connected

3.IF yes change it to client device only----- -----------------------------------     Not connected

4. Try to unmount the Datastore

Even checked the ScratchConfig its not pointing to old datastore it set to /temp.

Anyother suggestions on the same ?

can you make sure these checklist are satisfied

  • The datastore is not managed by Storage DRS.
  • The datastore is not part of a datastore cluster.
  • The datastore is not used for vSphere HA heartbeating.
  • Storage I/O control is disabled for this datastore.

Can you try login into the esxi and run

lsof | grep datastore_name

there should be no files locked

if you are still unable to unmount then there should be some process lock holds the datastore on esxi level.

rebooot the esxi and try unmount once again

after the reboot try again still if get the same error then there is no problem with the esxi

we need to troubleshoot on the vcenter

Disable the VSA plug-in from the vSphere Web Client  and try to unmount the datastoreonce unmounted then enable the plugin..

if we face the same error after the plugin disable then try restart the appliance or the vcenter

then try to unmount it again..!!

lets give a try

cheers!!!!
