A weird story...
I have two Poweredge R610's. Both have all firmware updated to the latest, and pass all diagnostics. I installed the Dell branded ESXi on to an internal USB flash drive, and everything is fine. I then disconnect the working Poweredge, and set up the second one, and install ESXi on to the internal USB. Install is fine, but when I try to log in, it doesn't accept my password. I reinstalled 4 times, with various simpler passwords, but I'm still unable to log in after install. It gives an authentication error, but I'm sure the password is right. Then, I take the USB drive from the working machine, plug it into this machine, and I can't log in either. Is there something weird where authentication is somehow tied to the hardware? The only differences between the two machines are minor (CPU, Memory, hard drives).
