Unable to add new LUN's

Good Day All

I'm getting the below error when trying to add new LUN to my ESX Cluster. I just updated my Host servers with Update 2.

Call "HostStorageSystem.RetrieveDiskPartitionInfo" for object "storageSystem-344"

Need more information, SAN, iSCSI/FC, HBAs being used (if any).

Have you verified that your zoning and everything is in order?  Have you attempted to rescan and add/create?

We re-created all the LUN and Zoning on the core switch. However we all tested the following LUN sizes.

LUN 1 = 2 TB

LUN 2 = 1.9 TB

LUN 3 = 1999 GB

ESXi Hosts Servers configured

ESXi Host 4.1 with Update 1

ESXi Host 4.1 with Update 2

All 3 LUN were added successfully to Host server with Update 1

LUN 2 and LUN 3 were added successfully to Host server with Update 2.

It seems Update 2 enforces the maximum LUN size, which is 2TB minus 512 Bytes with vSphere 4.x. Depending on the storage system, 2 TB could be either 2.000 GB (marketing size) or 2.048GB (technical size). The above mentioned maximum relates to the technical size, so with the storage system you have, you may need to configure 2.047GB max.
