Unable to Install VMware Tools

When I attempt to install VMware Tools on a guest I am stopped by the following message:

Other guests on this ESXi (vSphere 4) are running VMware tools and when I go to upgrade/install I am not presented with this dialogue.

Have you tried to install manually? Attach a datastore ISO to the server and just navigate to /vmimages/tools-isoimages/windows.iso

Where is the "Window.iso"? The path you are referring to in your post does not exist.

You may have had a problem during install or upgrade and either the iso's were not copied or the links were not created.

Run the update manager to see if an update, specifically the tools portion of the update, can restore the links or add the files.

You can manually fix the links or copy the ISO files to a datastore location. You can check to see if the files exist from the unsupported console http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1003677

I was not able to repair the ESXi build using two different ISO's. Ultimately I ended up rebuilding the entire ESXi host.
