USB3.0 Storage

Hi People,

I know that there are already some discussions about my problem...

Nevertheless, I didn't find a clear answer:

Can I get USB3.0 PCI-Ex Cards which are 100% compatible with ESXi5.5?

I would like to use Some Harddisk storage temporary by an ESXi System 100% als I had it as SAS or SATA HDD inside my Server.

When I searched in the forum by that theme, I found only tipps for passing-through the usb controller to the VM. But Can I get it, that ESXi5.5 System interpretes these USB3.0 disks like internal disks so that I can assign the Storage space to one or more VM's?

Many thanks for any hint!

Greetings

Tom

Hi Tom,

First, please check you device compatibility on this link: http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

If your device is compatible, you can pass-through that to your virtual machine and the VM can works with that directly.

*Also you should check that Pass-Through is supported by your main-board or not.
