USB Error

Hi I have a strange issue.

I have an USB license key. I have added the USB device to the virtual machine and then added the UBS key to the VM.

When i log into the machine through vSphere i can use the product as it sees the license key. When i use RDP to logon to the machine it cannot see the license.

It shows up on device manager so i am confused at where to begin at troubleshooting this

It depends on the software vendor and what sort of key they provided to you.

Some keys are explicitly created to not allow Remote Desktop and other terminal services like SSH. The software might be using keys such as Aladdin and/or SafeNet. But I think both of these are now part of Gemalto.

So you may have to ask the vendor of the software (not the key vendor) about it whether they can supply you with a key that allows remote access such as RDP.

IT is a Gemalto driver i have. Funny thing is it works in a XP virtual machine and RDP to it but not Windows 7

As Workaround, try to connect using VNC and you will see all your devices.
