USB 3.0 passthrough DAS read/write performance

ESXi 6.0

Drobo 5D 3.5.0 firmware

Lenovo 10E9000SUS or 10AY001RUS tiny pc's, i3 or i5 cpu, 8GB-16GB memory, flashed latest bios

using onboard usb 3.0 ports, add-in usb cards are not an option.

Read/write performance to Drobo ntfs volume is cut in half in Windows VM vs Windows physical installation, file copying reflects the test results.

Any suggestions to improve performance would be appreciated.

Did you check the performance with other USB disks?
