Trying to install VMtools manually on a Windows 2008 64 bit VM. I get the following message:
Setup has detected that one or more required services (Com+ System Application; Distributed Transaction Coordinator) is currently disabled. If you proceed with this installation, the Volume Shadow Copy Services Support feature cannot be installed. You may continue with this setup without installing this feature or quit setup, enable these services, and run setup again.
Do you wish to proceed without installating Volume Shadow Copy Services Support?
Can someone comment on why this is happening and how to resolve?
Thanks!
This was a manual installation not using Update Manger.
How/where do you modify the VMtools service account when VMtools has never been installed on this WIndows VM?
Sounds like to me that its suggesting that if you want to take a backup before proceeding you need to enable this service..
