Trying to add an IDE virtual node when the only option is SCSI.

In vsphere4 on esx4.0 when trying to add a virtaul device node hard disk to a virtual machine(XP), only SCSI devices are listed and not IDE devices which is what I need to get virtual workstations to deploy from Windows deployment tools. Is there any way to configue with an IDE option?

Ensure you are using Virtual Hardware version 7. You may have to upgrade.
