Trust Relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed

Hi, we are using ESX 5.5 and vdi in a box. We destroyed a vdi and re-created it and are

now receiving an error that the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed

From what we see on the web we think this is a sync issue, saw some reference to logon as local admin

to the machine and make a registry edit to resolve this, however, when we try that we are booted off the machine

and notice an error in vdi in a box that states logged off user from desktop because unauthorized user logged on

Appreciate any suggestions, thank you

Welcome to the Community,

how exactly did you destroy and re-create the VM?

The "trust relationship" message is actually related to the computer's AD account, for which the internally created machine password doesn't match. When you create a new VM, it needs to be added to the domain as any other system (virtual and/or physical). For automatic installation, this is usually achieved through sysprep or similar tools.

If this is a single VM, and you simply want to fix the trust relationship, open the Windows system properties, remove the system from the domain (by adding it to a workgroup), and then add it back to the domain. Although the system will prompt for reboots, the first reboot - after adding the system to the workgroup - is not required.

Thanks for the feedback, it was a single vm we had to destroy, we did this via vdi in a box. The issue it appears is two fold, we cant logon to the machine

to remove it from the domain, when we try with any domain logon we get the original trust error, when we try with local admin, we logon and then

within 30 seconds we are logged off. In vdi in a box logs we see the message that states logged off user from desktop because unauthorized user logged on

Thus we cant even logon to do this
