Have a look at:

And for documents

xtravirt published a HA troubleshooting whitepaper

http://xtravirt.com/xd10005#

There is also a new VMware 3 days course specific for troubleshooting.

Thanks Andre for your quick response. But these links pertain to ESX 3.0 and not vsphere. There are many concepts which are different in vsphere.Do you have links for vsphere. Also is there any official troubleshooting guide available??

Thanks,

Opinder.

Official guide I do not remember.

This is for performance troubleshooting:

This is the official course:

Hi,

i do the official troubleshooting course. But in my opinion it is not realy helpful for "normal work".

Because of the problems discussed in that course. Sometimes its not work near.

If you learn how to work with the console and the esxcli commands, how to build a vswitch, how to configure uplinks, how to add a uplink and so on. i think you will be fine.

And, not forget. This forum is very good. Build a something like a testlab if possible. There you can check out many thinks that is better not to do in the production environment.

This forum has a wealth of knowledge and the best troubleshooting comes from experience. It would be very hard to write a guide which would fit everyones environment so as previously mentioned, a test lab alongside your environment would be useful. Also check out the VMware: Deploy Secure and Analyse a 5 day course.

Hope this helps,

Dan
