The virtual disk is either corrupted or not a supported format

I am trying to make a clone from a vm but i recieve the error The virtual disk is  either corrupted  or not a  supported format.

The virtual machine is running on a correct VMFS datastore with the correct blocksize, there are no problems in the OS and FS within the virtual machine.

You could try to clone this VM by using VMware Converter. then you may try to clone the cloned VM.

Take a look at the VPXA logs to see whether they contain warnings/errors when cloning.

How are you cloning the VM? Using the GUI or the CLI?

But the VM is working or can be powered on correctly?

How do you make the clone?

I've vMotion the server to another VMFS datastore, and now snapshotting works like a charm.
