thanks.

the .vmx-file looks good. w2008r2*.vmdk could be open on 2019-11-07.

there are no log entries between 11/07 and 11/18 - what happened with the vm in this time ? was it moved ? also i can not see any start request today. are the 2 *-vmdk-files still there ?

it seems that the vm is currently running - there ist a lockfile. can you please power off the machine (not the host) and then power it on again ? this generates also a new vmware.log

If this is the complete file listing, then you are in trouble (unless you have a backup).

There's only the small header/descriptor .vmdk file that's listed. The data .vmdk file is missing.

If you don't have a backup, and you need/want to see whether the file can be recovered, consider contacting continuum.

can you please enable ssh on the host and execute "ls -lah /vmfs/volumes/SSD_500/w2008r2" ?

there must be a w2008r2.vmdk and w2008r2-flat.vmdk. the first file only a few bytes, the other file 40GB

also post the actual vmware.log please

ok - the datafile w2008r2-flat.vmdk is missing, only the descriptor-file w2008r2.vmdk is there. when you type "cat w2008r2.vmdk" (is a textfile) you will see that it references to the missing file.
