The ramdisk 'tmp is full'

Hi,

We've started to get the following error message on several of our ESXi 5.1 hosts.

The ram disk 'tmp' is full.  As a result, the file /tmp/cimple_log_err_messages could not be written.

From the following command we can see that indeed the /tmp directory is full

Inside of the tmp directory we can see that the space is being taken up by a file called cimple_log_err_messages and was wondering as to whether it's simply okay just to delete the file?

Thanks

Are they IBM servers ? if yes. then you need to set the env_var for your server

here is a fix. http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=209444...

As the vmware KB explains VMware KB: RAM disk is full

If the error was caused by an administrator action, delete the files that use the incorrect path or move them to a datastore.
