Syslog problem

Hi, I'm using 4 esx-i 4.1 U1 Servers and a vMA 4.1 applicance with vilogger enabled and working.

But every time I reboot a esx-i host I will get the following Warning message:

"Warning: Syslog not configured. Please check Syslog options under ..."

But I think the vilogger on vMA collects the messages for me. In the corresponding subfolder I can see the logs.

So can anyone explain me, what's wrong with my configuration.

Should I add an additional SYSLOG-Server?

Thanks for any reply.

You can configure ESXi to send it's logs somewhere or you can configure the vilogger to collect ESXi logs.

You probably have your syslog server set to collect logs. In this case ESXi will still hold it's logs and vilogger will keep a copy. This is how I have my configuration setup as outlined in my blog;
