Syslog forwarder for Vcenter Syslog Collector.

Hi Team,

We have configured VCenter Syslog collector in VCenter server which is running fine. All the syslogs are collecting from Esxi . Now due to one application requirement we want this vCenter to forward all the logs to other appliance .

Can we configure such kind of forwarder in VCenter server

Hi and welcome to the communities,

Well for one,  you can configure remote syslog in a VM where the application is running and you can pick from there. To configure remote syslog, do refer here http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=200332...

As far as i know Vcenter syslog is not able to forward its events to an alternative location. However, those log files are saved into a directory. It would theorectically (splunk can do this) be possible for a 3rd party monitoring tool to monitor those directories and import the data.

you can send those logs to multiple collectors.  In order to do so, just separate the Syslog.global.logHost with commas (,).  see example below
