Hi everybody,
I have recently upgraded VMware ESXi from 6.5U1 to ESXi 6.5 EP 23 on two hosts cluster and in one of them I'm getting next error message:
"Se produjo un error con el daemon de registro por un motivo inesperado. ReportVob() missing 1 required positional argument 'vobfmt'
That's a syslog daemon reference and there is a VMware KB linked to the error:
Syslog daemon encounters an unexpected fatal error and stops (vmware.com)
I have checked and restarted the host with no success. I set Syslog service as manual and I cannot stop it excuting this because process is not found:
# ps -Cc | grep vmsyslogd
# kill -9 XXXXXXX
# kill -9 XXXXXXX
The KB says:
- If restart the host is not practical, contact VMware technical support to restore the log daemon.
How can I restore the log daemon?
