Switching VM version 4 to 7

Is it possible that if you create a VM using version 4 you can switch to version 7?

I couldn't find the option in the settings for the VMs.

First VMTools needs to be upgraded. Then you need to do a virtual hardwre upgrade. The easiest way to do it is with Update Manager.

yes, simply power down the VM, right click choose update virtual hardware

If you are using VUM and having a lot of vms, just create a baseline to change the hw version.
