I have been using VMware for sometime. right now I'm trying to stream audio from a Win7 VM via RDP. Right now I'm logged in via RDP the VM is running on local datastore running on an SSD drive. The audio that is being streamed to the VM via a website and then goes to my desktop.I'm hearing a metal pop type sounds in my head phones.I'm trying to find the bottleneck it is proving difficult becuase the host looks good on RAM and CPU. Any help will be most welcome. Other things that I have noticed are the following;
poor performance in the console. mouse moves slow. however issue is alot better when I RDP into the Windows box.
Do you have VMware tools installed? That may resolve the poor performance within the console. You also may need to install the sound drivers on the VM...
Also, verify that when you RDP into the VM that you have the following :
Open Remote desktop Connection -> make sure the VM's name or IP is in the window -> click Experience -> verify that connection speed is LAN 10mbps or higher. This may help.. especially if its on something slower.
