Storage setup for 3 Esxi 5.0 (Free) without Vsphere

I´m gonna setup 3 ESXI hosts (free edition) with no vsphere for now.

a) If I purchase a Vsphere licence next year, can I just upgrade the 3 installed hosts without re-installing them?

b) Storage issue (ISCSI), I´ll be using an Emc Vnxe3100 storage for the 3 esxi´s, should I set a Host-only-Lun for each host? I don´t know if setting up a shared Lun for the 3 hosts would cause any data loss, cause there would be no central software to admin them as a cluster.

Welcome to the Communities..

a) Binaries are same for both FREE and PAID version so you can just add the license key without re-installing.

b) VMDK's will be locked for running VM's by the host.. so there wouldnt be any loss,

Thanks for the answer, I hadn´t really clear that point. So I can set an easer lun arrange for my 3 hosts with this information.
