hi ,
I m doing live storage vmotion from esx 3.5 to esx 4.0. my Machine is linux 4.& ENT. having 7 vmdk attched . five vmdk coming fromm different -different datastore.
Can i do the live storage vmtion. becasue i read some where that for for storage vmtion all the vmdk should ve on same LUN.
Please reply.
I just had a look in the 3.x documentation. Regarding this document you can move the disks independently, but I'm pretty sure that I came across the limitation that we could only move all .vmdks into one folder while we were upgrading to vSphere.
I'll try to find what that was exactly.

I'm not sure if they need to be on the same LUN. AFAIK you only can move them all together to the same destination. On ESX 4 you can move .vmdk's independently.
