Storage Vmotion in vsphere 4.1

I want to know in vsphere 4.1 CBT method is used by the storage vmotion so where the changed blocks information is kept in this case?

Hi,

The changed block information is stored along with the config file. Pl. check the specific vm file  where you can find .ctk.vmdk files. These are found for VM's which have CBT enabled. 

some backup solutions uses this process to save space on disk.

Good question, For each virtual disk and snapshot disk there is a .ctkfile. And during block level tracking they will be residing on both the datastores. Also, for this you should have ctk enabled for the vm.
