Stopping the Virtual Hardware Upgrade process

On a VMware ESXi 4.1 (standalone) server I started the Virtual Hardware Upgrade Process for a given VM.

After many hours the process is reported as "In progress".

I am not sure I still need the VM.

How can I cancel the process without simply rebooting the ESXi server?

I don't see any option to stop or delete the Virtual Hardware Upgrade process...

Regards

restart the management agents. The virtual hardware upgrade process is VERY quick, so it's probably a stuck process.  If this host is being managed by vCenter, you can restart the vCenter Server Service.

Hi, I had this exact same problem the other day - is the ESXi Console awaiting a User response?  Check the visible logs.

In my case the user dialogue response was hidden from my view.

I forget for the life of me what it was warning me about. I think I did not have the latest version of VMTools running on that particular guest.

Hope this helps.
