Standalone esx 5.5 reverting back to local Authenication

Hi

We have about 15 Esx Standalone servers running esx 5.5 which where setup to use Ad authentication.

For some reason when they are restarted they are reverting back to local authentication and can't see the domain any more.

When i remove them from the domain and re add them esx says it is in the domain, but the trusted domain list has no domains in it and I cant see any AD groups when i go to permissions (we have 4 trusted domains)

Even on a fresh install i cant join them to the domain ,unless I create the folder structure in this article, but in only works on fresh installs Active directory authentication fails with ESXi 5.5 Fresh install | blog.jgriffiths.org

i have looked at the lsaad log file which mentions the netlogond taking longer than 12 seconds to respond but i have no idea what the root cause is

Also why the above does not work on a esx that has been in the domain

i have also looked a powercli to join the domain but all i mange to get when joining the domain is otherproblem which does not narrow the issue down

Problem is the 15 esx are on remote sites and it is not practical to reinstall esx on them again

looks like there is a issue with esx install but i have very little experience with Linux

any help or pointers would be great or any ideas on how to narrow down the issue would be great

looks like i have this issue with the trusted domains where it times out

does anyone know how to fix on a standalone esx cant find the time-out value in the fix below

or is there anyway to get esx to ignore the trusted domains
