Is there a way to be notified when a snapshot is taken of a virtual machine? I have some people taking snapshots and never deleting them. Is there a way to search virtual center for vms that have snapshots? Thanks

Yes there's many ways to query for this information in vCenter.

Check out this cool tool written by the great Alan using PowerCLI to locate snapshot offenders: http://www.virtu-al.net/2009/06/22/powercli-snapreminder/

    Hello.

    RVTools is great for this.

    Good Luck!

I don't know off hand a way to be notified if a snapshot is taken, but you can quickly find any VM's that have a snapshot by using something like RVTools

as for monitoring snapshots, you can somewhat do this through alarms
