Snapshot removal and vCenter functionality

Hello,

Removing a snapshot from a large VM which could take a couple of days based on the current speed. And need to upgrade vCenter from 5.1 to 5.5.

Will the upgrade impact snapshot removal process? Or this is a strictly local operation on the host?

Thank you in advance!

This is strictly local operation in the host untill its not the vcenter itself. You can upgrade your vcenter without any issue if snapshot deletion process is with some other VM.It will keep continue..

Assume after upgrade "remove snapshot" task will not be visible in vCenter?

But visible if connect directly to the host?
