Snapshot problem

I'm a total noob so please forgive me if this is dumb.  I just tried taking a snapshot of a new 2008R2 installation and it failed.  Does this sound like a 2008R2 problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, I'm using ESX 4.1 update 1

Have you taken any snapshots before?  Do you see any errors?  Have you tried taking a snapshot and then deleting all?

Thanks for getting back to me so quick.  I did have some snapshots and I think I cancelled them before.  I was getting an error but I tried the delete all trick and now I can snap.   Thanks a million.

My pleasure.  Something else to look out for is if the VM is pointing to a vmdk or a snapshot.  A snapshot will typically end in a -0000001.vmdk.  The number will change according to the snapshot chain.
